ولأن الدين الإسلامي قد دعا إلى التبرع، والمساعدة والاهتمام بالفقراء والمحتاجين، وكذلك أيضاً يتضح في أغلب المناسبات الدينية، في العالم العربي، وحث الناس على التبرع، والبذل من أجل الخير، فإن العمل الخيري مفهوم متداول بين المسلمين بشكل كبير.
